America Service Group Announces Expected Inclusion in Russell 3000(R) and Russell Global Indexes

BRENTWOOD, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jun. 22, 2009-- America Service Group Inc. (NASDAQ:ASGR) announced today that, according to a preliminary list of additions posted on Russell Investments’ website (www.russell.com) on June 12, 2009, and updated June 19, 2009, the Company expects to join both the Russell 3000® Index and the Russell Global Index when Russell Investments reconstitutes its comprehensive set of United States (“U.S.”) and global equity indexes on June 26, 2009.

According to Russell Investments, annual reconstitution of Russell’s U.S. indexes captures the largest U.S. stocks as of the end of May, ranking them by total market capitalization. Membership in the Russell 3000 remains in place for one year and means automatic inclusion in the large-cap Russell 1000® Index or small-cap Russell 2000® Index as well as the appropriate growth and value style indexes. The Company expects to be included in the Russell 2000® Index.

Russell Investments indicated that the Russell 3000 also serves as the U.S. component to the Russell Global Index, which it launched in 2007. Membership in the Russell Global Index will last for one year and features automatic inclusion in the appropriate large-cap, small-cap, all-cap indexes as well as the applicable style, sector and country indexes.
